DR. KAREN WRIGHT-CHISOLM
Karen Wright-Chisolm, a retired Chief Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force and the first black and female Superintendent of the 315th Mission Support Squadron at Charleston Air Force Base, is a passionate advocate for domestic violence awareness, a public speaker, and the founder of multiple organizations. She holds advanced degrees in human resources management and organizational leadership, is a life member of several prestigious organizations, and has contributed to best-selling books, including Camouflaged Sisters Silent No More and You Deserve Life.
My Story
Karen Wright-Chisolm grew up in Charleston, South Carolina, the 7th child of eleven children. Karen attended and graduated from Burke High School in 1973. Karen is a Retired Veteran from the United States Air Force, retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant, the highest enlisted rank only obtained by 1 % of the force. Chief Chisolm is noted as being the first black and first female to serve as Superintendent of the 315th Mission Support Squadron on Charleston Air Force Base.
Her professional education includes a Doctoral of Management Candidate, Ambassador Bible College and Seminary, Doctoral Management Candidate, Organizational Leadership – at the University of Phoenix, a Dual Master of Arts Degree in Human Resources Management/Human Resources Development; a B.S. Degree in Human Resources Management, and AA Degree in Personnel Administration.
Karen is a life member of Greater St. Luke AME Church. Karen is an advocate and public speaker of Domestic Violence and is an Author who has contributed to two books which have been noted as #1 Best Selling Authors, Camouflaged Sisters Silent No More and Camouflaged Sisters – Leadership through the Eyes of Senior Military Women Leaders. Karen recently published the #1 Best Seller – “You Deserve Life”.
Karen is married to Paul Chisolm, Jr. and they have 4 children, 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Karen loves God and family. My favourite scripture is Proverbs 3: 5-6; Her motto is: “Never Underestimate the Power of Someone Else’s Struggles Unless You Have Walked in Their Shoes.”
